You will be surprised to know that you can reuse coffee grounds in unique ways, which indicates the fact that coffee has a useful afterlife that may benefit you in manifold ways.

• As Compost: Used coffee grounds are rich sources of nitrogen and this is what makes them a powerful element for composting. Your compost pile should ideally consist of three equal proportions of leaves, coffee grounds, and fresh grass clippings. However, you need to note that composted coffee grounds are more effective than freshly-brewed coffee grounds and hence, you need to make sure that you treat your plants with coffee grounds that have already been broken down and composted.
• As An Exfoliating Agent: Mix coffee grounds with an equal proportion of olive oil and apply the mixture on your skin. Massage gently as you allow the coffee grounds to exfoliate your skin and the olive oil to keep your skin moisturized.
• As An Abrasive: Coffee grounds have a rough texture which makes them ideal for use as an abrasive. You may use coffee grounds to clean those hard-to- clean dishes. Keep some coffee grounds on a cleaning rag and lock them inside the rag by tying the two sides with a rubber band. Your coffee sponge is now ready to do its job.
• As A Freshener For Refrigerator: Used coffee grounds work like baking soda and they can be used as a deodorizing agent. Keep a bowl of coffee grounds in your refrigerator to get rid of the bad smells that may be impacting your refrigerator’s indoor air quality.
• As A Scratch Rectification Agent: Do you have a piece of furniture that needs a healing touch? Keep used coffee grounds in a pot and add ¼ cup warm water and ¼ cup vinegar into it. Shake the mixture thoroughly and allow it to sit for an hour. Take a rag, dip it into the mixture and apply it on the scratches. Whether you believe it or not, your furniture will look as new as it was when you brought it home for the very first time. Try it to test it.
